Apollo Lunar Lunar Module

The model is from Revell and was launched in 2009 for the 40th anniversary. The scale is 1:48 and therefore one of the larger models available.

Unfortunately there are no more pictures of the construction. A transparent rod is hidden under the wadding, which carries the light from the LED to the outside. Thus, the cotton is well supplied with light everywhere. The black radiation tiles for the control nozzles were not included in the kit and were recreated and attached by me including brackets.

Die Geschichte dazu ist einfach. Neil Amstrong und Buzz Aldrin hatten auf meinem Diorama eine Meinungsverschiedenheit. Buzz lies Neil einfach stehen und flog alleine zurück. Einige meinen es ist nicht authentisch wenn da ein Astronaut steht, aber dann dürfte da auch kein Feuer und Rauch sein. Jeder kann hier seine eigene Meinung (oder Geschichte) dazu haben.

A lot of filling and sanding had to be done on the ascent step. The silver and black paintwork was also very complex. I pulled the power supply up with two enamelled copper wires under the wadding so they are barely visible.

The Bavarian radio was also there at an exhibition and filmed the lunar module. The report says: This model was built for the 50th anniversary of the landing on the moon. The lighting really makes the model come alive and by starting the ascent stage it gives the model dynamism.

The gluing of the foil was easy. The struts and landing feet were also wrapped and "ribbons" made and glued on with the silver side of the foil. A cable for the power supply cannot be seen in this model either. With a lot of effort, the cable was wrapped under the foil on a stand foot.

The inside of the ascension step was also livened up by incorporating parts of an old cell phone. There is even a small table.

Two cameras, circuit boards, resistors and of course the fleeing buzz can be found there.

The LEDs were not allowed to be visible when looking at the window. I attached this to the front of the floor in order to get a good illumination.

Outside, too, I kept to the original as far as possible. The silver and black paintwork as well as the foils were taken over 1: 1.

Viele Teile sind Eigenanfertigungen da sie nicht im Bausatz vorgesehen waren.
Die Bauzeit betrug ca. 8 Wochen.
Das Diorama wurde nochmals überarbeitet. Bilder folgen demnächst.
